Tessa Gray-Burnett was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She has been active her whole life pursing different outdoor activities and sports. This love for being active helped her decide to pursue a kinesiology degree at the University of Calgary. Tessa’s true love is Track and Field. She has competed for over 16 years in Canada, the United States and over seas. She was a perennial finalist at the Canadian Track and Field Senior Nationals in her favourite event, the 400m Hurdles. Her best result there was 4th in the country in 2008. She also competed for the University of Calgary Dinos for 4 years, achieving 1st Team All Canadian with her 4x400m team in 2008. Her 4x400m team set a stadium and a school record that year.
